Thea B. Prochaska joined the firm in 2018 as an associate immigration attorney. Her previous work as in-house immigration counsel for a large health care technology corporation gives her a unique perspective in employer-sponsored immigration. Thea’s experience in the corporate setting includes managing the U.S.-based immigration program (temporary and permanent visas, including H-1Bs, L-1s, and the green card process), ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations, and providing counsel and advice to management and leadership teams on immigration topics. Thea also drafted and finalized employer-sponsored visa applications for non-U.S. petitions. She has further compliance-related experience from her tenure at a large financial services firm, where she conducted employment law research and analysis to provide risk management support and drafted temporary visa applications in multiple jurisdictions.
During law school, Thea participated in an Asylum and Human Rights clinic, where she successfully litigated in Boston’s Immigration Court. She also served as a Note Editor for the American Journal of Law and Medicine. Before law school, Thea spent two years teaching in the Bronx, New York as a middle school special education teacher with Teach for America.
